Info about WOW production roles

The Women of Wolfville began in 2001 when two moms challenged each other to mount a production of The Vagina Monologues.  The group joined a world-wide movement to stop violence against women with our 2002 production.  In 2003, we challenged the impending war in Iraq with a production of Lysistrata.  In 2004, we looked at the relationships between mothers and children, donating our money to orphanages around the world.  Our 2005 show focused on the theme of body image and we produced a very successful calendar which raised an additional $10,000.  In 2006 we explored our own past, from pre-history to the present. In 2008 our theme was Secrets and in 2009 our show dealt with women in the night...
This year our theme is food.

We like to perform to sold out houses and raise a lot of money for good causes. Each winter we form new friendships and have a great time. Once again this year we are soliciting writing  and working with local authors (both professionals and amateurs) to create a collective production reflecting on our theme.

The Women of Wolfville is open to anyone who would like to join. We see ourselves as Women of the World, who happen to be based in a small town in Nova Scotia.  Collectively we are a diverse group ranging in age from 9 months to 90 years. Our aim is to raise awareness of women's issues and inequity in the world through theatre by fundraising for relevant charities while having fun and stretching ourselves artistically.
